Time for a tune-up?
United Air Temp offers a comprehensive air conditioning tune up. Benefits of a tune up include:

Our tune-up procedure includes, as needed:
- Thoroughly clean and wash condenser coils
- Thoroughly clean washable air filters
- Lubricate motor and fan bearings as well as other moving parts
- When accessible, clean and inspect evaporator coil and drain pan
- Clean and inspect condensate drain lines and fittings
- Clean, level and calibrate thermostat
- Adjust and thoroughly clean blower motor and fan assembly
- Inspect, tighten, and test all electrical connections, including the disconnect switch
- Inspect all cooling system electrical wires, connectors, and terminals
- Test system starting and running capacitors
- Test all controls, switches, relays, transformers, contractors, motors, and fans
- Measure starting and running capacitors
- Test system-starting capabilities
- Test system for proper air flow and air delivery Inspect and adjust all safety controls
- Monitor refrigerant (Freon) pressures and temperatures
- Test and record super-heat and sub-cooling; compare with factory specifications
- Monitor fan motors and compressor operating temperatures

Frequently asked questions:
- How often should I have my air conditioning/heating system serviced? We suggest twice a year: in the spring and in the fall. Regular check-ups can identify issues before they turn into serious problems.
- Should my thermostat be set to "auto" or "on"? Setting the thermostat to "auto" is the most efficient setting. The fan operates only when the temperature requires it. The only advantage to using the "on" setting is that the air is constantly filtered, resulting in an even temperature throughout the house; however this will lessen the life of the motor.
- Should I cover my outdoor unit in the winter? No. Air conditioners are built to withstand the outdoor environment and should not be covered.
- How close may I plant shrubs or flowers to the outdoor unit? Keep plants at least 2 feet from the air conditioner to allow for proper air circulation. Without room for air circulation, the unit may overheat.
