Can a leaking AC coil be repaired?
Unfortunately, even the best HVAC pros usually cannot make a long-lasting repair to a leaking AC coil, and a homeowner must decide whether to replace the coil or replace the entire unit.
An AC coil should last as long as the expected lifespan of the entire system, but over time, coils can develop pinhole leaks that the naked eye cannot detect. These leaks can cause the unit to lose refrigerant over time, reducing the system’s cooling power. Temporary fixes such as recharging the refrigerant or attempting to seal the coils don’t usually work long-term.

Why is my AC system running but not cooling?
