At United Air Temp, we’re as committed to environmentally friendly HVAC solutions as we are to delivering exceptional services and products. Many Florida homeowners rely on electric-powered heating and air conditioning systems to keep their homes comfortable, but you could still upgrade to a more efficient unit.

There’s never been a better time to replace your HVAC system with a newer, more efficient model. That’s because federal and utility rebates are available that make these energy-efficient systems even more affordable and cost-effective than they already are.

UAT will help you identify which rebates you’re eligible for and make the replacement process as easy as possible.

What’s the Difference Between Tax Credits & Rebates?

Tax credits allow taxpayers to owe less taxes. This may even result in a tax refund if the taxpayer owes no taxes.

Rebates, on the other hand, give you money back when you purchase a product or shortly after.

In Florida, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 allows federal tax credits while local utility companies provide point-of-sale rebates.

Federal HVAC Tax Credits

Florida homeowners are eligible for a federal tax credit for installing air-source heat pumps or ductless mini-splits.

This means homeowners can claim a tax credit of $2,000 or 30% of the total cost, whichever is less, of a heat pump that has an ENERGY STAR® label or a mini-split that’s 16 SEER or higher.

Numerous utility providers throughout the state also offer rebates to homeowners when they choose to upgrade their HVAC system:
