What Is the DSIRE?<\/h2>\r\n

The Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency<\/a> (DSIRE) was established in 1995 to create a comprehensive source for homeowners and businesses to review available incentive programs and to stay abreast of the latest policies related to renewable energy.<\/p>\r\n

Specifically, the DSIRE aggregates data on federal, state, and local policies and incentives related to renewable solar energy, HVAC energy efficiency, energy storage, and electric vehicles.<\/p>\r\n

The North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center maintains the database, which offers a wealth of information that helps homeowners shrink their carbon footprints and utility bills.<\/p>\r\n

Federal Energy Efficiency Tax Credits for Residential Homes<\/h2>\r\n

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 offers tax credits and point-of-sale rebates for the purchase and installation of high-efficiency HVAC systems. Only primary residents qualify, though other programs are available for businesses, home builders, and second homes.<\/p>\r\n
